Sun 10/27, 2002 Reunion Recap Schedule   •   Official Reunion Home   •   See 25th Reunion Fri 10/25/2002: Registration opened in the morning, and the weather was cool and just a bit wet. Classmates showed up at the John Evans Center for lunch and headed off for tours of campus and lectures by faculty members, including fellow class of 1982 alumnus Craig Bina, who explained his latest theories for the causes of plate tectonics and earthquakes. Each reunion class presented a ceremonial check to President Henry Bienen, with our class having the highest reunion total and the second highest overall giving total for this year! Then it was time for dinner and the parade. Our classmates loaded up the 1982 float, and in a cool, clear evening we rode north up Sheridan Road, singing the fight song and chanting "That's all right, that's OK, you're going to look like us some day" to some of the more boisterous undergraduates lining the road. Sat 10/26/2002: The reunion tailgate at Ryan Field got started at 9am, and the Purdue game started at 11am. Unfortunately, the 'Cats looked more like the football teams that we remember winning only one game between 1978 and 1982. :-( Classmates went off to private reunion parties in the afternoon, and then headed for our party at Bar Louie at 7pm. The reunion committee did a splendid job of organizing the party, and Bar Louie was packed to the gills for the entire evening as classmates caught up on the past twenty years of their lives. The party roared on strong until at least 11:30 p.m., when yours truly left to catch some sleep before an early Sunday morning flight.
